It’s a girl! Elise is about to have a little sister!

I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to post… We have a baby on the way!   Right now we’re 18 weeks along with baby due mid-November.  This week I’ve been able to feel the baby start thumping around a bit, and Josh even felt it once, too.  Fun times!  Ultrasound is next week.

Elise is 20 months old!  We spend our time at home playing, outside playing, at the playground, watering the plants, cooking in her kitchen, and starting to color with crayons.  Her vocabulary is still exploding, and she’s starting to put words together like “wash hands” and “phone ringing”.  You can just see her little brain ticking away and she processes new words and information.  She loves to look at the pictures in her Bible, especially the babies and snakes - where’d that come from?!  And her latest stalling technique at bedtime is “more pray”.  It’s hard to turn that down!  We are already surprised by what she remembers and her budding imagination.  She’s definitely a toddler and will let you know (loudly) when she’s not getting something she wants.  But she’s still a sweet girl!

We took our first family trip to the Memphis Zoo on Friday.  It was lots of fun!  Elise talks now about the “big animals” we saw at the zoo. 

Papa and Emma came to visit for a few days, and what fun it was to have them here!  We got to enjoy a wonderful adult dinner out, our 2nd annual ladies spa day, lots of play time with Elise, the playground, pizza, yard work, and the church family picnic.  They also got to try out the new and improved guest accomodations.  Elise loved having Papa and Emma around and preferred them over Mommy and Daddy - okay by me!  It was so much fun to watch her enjoy them and talk to them and about them.  She will miss them (so will we)!
