One thing that both of us had in common from the moment we met as our faith.  Our faith still remains at the core of who we are as individuals and as a couple.  A web site about us would be far from complete if it did not include this aspect of our hearts and lives.  We would like to share with you what God has done in our lives.

I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in the fall of 1982, when I was five years old.  At the time I was attending Calvary Baptist Day School in Winston-Salem, NC, where Dr. C. Mark Corts was the school administrator and senior pastor of the church.  During a weekly chapel service at school, Dr. Corts presented the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Up until that time, I knew little to nothing of God and Jesus.  I knew “God is great and God is good,” but that was about it.  I remember for the first time hearing about Christ’s sacrifice for me and the free (yet costly) gift He made available to me.  At that time I certainly didn’t grasp what all Jesus had done for me, but I knew that I was a sinner and that that sin would keep me separated from God.  The longer I live, the more I am humbled and awestruck by what Christ has done for me.  It boggles my mind that the almighty, perfect creator of the universe would not only allow His Son to die for me, but that He sent Him to earth to take on human form with the explicit purpose of becoming a sacrifice sufficient for all humankind.  From the time that I was five when I became a child of God and fellow heir with Christ, I have sought to grow in the Lord and become the man God wants me to be.  That path has not always been straight due to my own selfish desires, but everywhere I look I can see the hand of the Lord at work throughout it.  He has always and will continue to orchestrate events in my life that appropriate to make me holy, shape me into the Image of His Son, and fashion me into a tool to bring Him glory.
